Methodology Module

This map is part of a Methodology Module for Intro to Digital Studies at the University of Mary Washington. I chose to focus on mapping in honor of my grandmother (1944-2018) who loved American lighthouses. This map is by no means a comprehensive guide to all the historic lighthouses in the United States. Instead I am focusing on 48 different ones located across the country. The lighthouses found here are just a few that I have record of from her personal collection of books and figurines. Each entry contains an image and link related to each lighthouse and is not intended to be a comprehensive guide to each lighthouse. This map is being used only for educational purposes in the context of a classroom and no plagiarism is intended in the use of any of the corresponding images.

Please feel free to click on the map and even open it in a new tab. There’s a lot of lighthouses in the U.S. and this only scratches the surface.
